Dave is a retired large animal veterinarian who has published four books:

An Unlikely Superhero, a work of historical fiction based on the life of Jesus who has been given superpowers to battle the evil Dark Force.
The Red Tempest, another work of fiction: What could go wrong when four people, unhappy in mid-life, meet on a train and their lives intersect?
Canoe Trip Odyssey is a coming-of-age odyssey where Uncle Rex is compelled to take a trip to the BWCA with Ralph, his incompatible teenage nephew.

Dave also has posted multiple essays and short stories on his blog, www.davewrightwrites.com.

Sue is a retired landscape designer and a watercolor painter. She has written and illustrated one children’s book

Gramma Lost Her Underpants, which was created during the pandemic for her grandchildren who also helped guide her inspiration. She is in the process of illustrating another children’s book with a friend. Find her artwork at https://www.facebook.com/SueWrightArt/

Sue and Dave live in Buffalo. They have two adult sons and five grandchildren.

In “Canoe Trip Odyssey,” Rex Thompson’s dream to take a post-retirement canoe trip in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness is radically altered when his wife dies after a prolonged illness and he is compelled to take the trip with Ralph, his incompatible teenage nephew. In this coming-of-age odyssey, the duo must rely on each other to cope with treacherous weather, a kidnapping, Ralph’s dysfunctional parents, and Rex’s infatuation with a deceitful hospice nurse.

“Oh, It’s You” is a collection of short stories about Dave’s life as a veterinarian that are woven together with self-deprecating humor, heart-warming anecdotes, and challenging predicaments that do not always end well.

In “The Red Tempest,” four people meet on a train. A woman flees the expectations of her father and her ex-husband. A romance novelist seeks inspiration for a new hero. An unhappily married accountant hides money from his wife who is a compulsive gambler. What could go wrong?

“An Unlikely Superhero” is a book for young readers who, if they are like Dave’s grandchildren, may be more interested in superheroes than in Sunday school. This short book is a work of historical fiction based on the life of Jesus who has been given superpowers to battle the evil Dark Force.
